I write and perform my own style of poetry and music, much of which is based on Jewish stories, prayers and festivals.

Eser - Danny Raphael and Roi Levi performing for Salon Amsterdam

I started my career as a performer in London and was soon being invited to perform all over the UK, and then in Europe, the US and Israel. I’ve collaborated with artists such as Y-LoveSagol 59 and Roi Levi, singer-songwriter for the internationally renowned Israeli group Shotei haNevuah.

Some of the places I’ve performed: Glastonbury Festival, Big Chill Festival, Sunrise Festival, Green Man Festival, Trinity International Hip Hop Festival, Shambala Festival, The Jazz Cafe, Ministry of Sound, Cargo, Thekla, 93 Feet East, The Spitz, and others in Amsterdam, Nuremberg, Stockholm, Prague, Jerusalem, Vienna, Paris, Budapest.

Here’s what some folks have said about my pieces and performances:

Daniel has an original and engaging style of imparting Jewish knowledge through rhyme and rap which captured the imagination of our teenagers. He is a broad thinker who can deliver important Jewish content in a meaningful way to children, youth and adults alike.
- Rabbi Eli Levin (Associate Rabbi, South Hampstead Shul)

Reb Daniel made an instant connection with the kids with his charm, humor, easy-going nature, and impressive talent as a rapper and educator.
- Rabbi Saul Strosberg (Spiritual Leader, Congregation Sherith Israel)

I would be happy to use Danny again, and to recommend him as a gifted educator and an inspiring performer.
- Yael Peleg (Director of Operations, Tribe)

My students (5th to 8th grade)  love Daniel’s songs and they have helped inspire many lessons of mine in different and creative directions.
Rabbi Michael Katzman (Levine Hebrew Academy)

Daniel is a versatile & multi layered performer, artist and producer. I’ve worked with him on a variety of projects including short films, workshops and Jewish arts events. Most artists just perform, but Daniel can also produce and deliver projects…He is able to successfully fuse an extensive background of Jewish learning into poetry and to make this knowledge accessible to new audiences. His poetry is layered, fresh and has depth.
Elliott Tucker (Multimedia Artist)

Danny is clearly a fantastic youth worker and a talented musician. We are hugely grateful to him, and are very pleased to be able to offer a huge and unequivocal recommendation to other organisations to use Danny. You won’t be disappointed.
